This is a Goodbye.

It's New Years Eve. It seems like a good day to write something like this.

After a year or so of fun, it's about time for me to be done with Dreaming In Color. In the last months I haven't had nearly as much time to keep it up, and my interests are moving on to other things. So I've decided it's time to quit blogging. Maybe not permanently, but for now and on this blog at least.

So on this last post, I thought I would catch us up to where I am today. 

Well...

I still absolutely love journaling. I also love writing. It's my way of looking back on life in a new way, as words on paper. Reading is also one of those things I still adore in my free time. If you see me typing on the keyboard, holding a book, or writing in a journal, you can assume I'm happy.

Music. Oh, music. How much I've come to appreciate it. I've always loved playing some instrument, singing, or listening to it. But now it's become like the air. It's something I need to keep breathing. I've gotten into songwriting a little. Trust me, don't expect anything amazing anytime soon, but writing lyrics and melodies just for myself keeps me in a good mood. I've also picked up the ukulele recently which has been quite fun. And when I'm not playing or writing something, I've got my ear buds in. I relate to lyrics so easily, and they really do help me get through life. All those happy times and hard times, songs are there for me in every situation and right when I need it the most. That's just part of the reason I love listening to music so much.

Well, that's about it. This is me. I'm not perfect. I'm still awkward. But I think I'll be just okay.

Thanks for reading for all the months you have! I can't wait to see what else is to come in the future.

I'm Back World!

Hello.
I know it's been forever since I've written. Summer was completely busy, but I'm sure the school year will be even busier. With college classes and Chemistry already started, and basketball practice coming in less than 2 months, yes, it'll only get busier from here. But now that we're here, I thought I'd reminisce in summer vacation memories and photos.

Rocking chairs!

This is the house in North Carolina we stayed at. It was nice, and overlooked lots of mountains and trees.

 Earlier this year I went tubing a billion (Okay, maybe like 5) times on youth trip. Ever since then I kind of loved tubing... and on a freezing lake surrounded by mountains, it was fun. Here I am about to stand up, which I eventually completed, but sadly only got blurry pictures of.

I also went zip lining. Which was way too short, but awesome. The only scary part was when I was standing up on a platform, 40 ft in the air, and the guide says 'Okay, just jump off'... and I probably gave her a strange look.

Besides that, we also went white water rafting on the Nantahala river.  Rafting is exciting, and wet. 

...and after the mountains, we settled in Atlanta, GA for a couple of days. It rained too much for good pictures, but the city was pretty fun.

And here we are now, a few weeks later, sitting at home blogging while I'm supposed to be studying Chemistry. I can find every reason in the world not to do Chemistry today. I even went on a run in 90 degree weather... because seriously, who want to memorize the periodic table when there's so many better things to do with you time? To quote my chemistry teacher, "You'll use the periodic table in whatever career you go into as long as it's not something like History or Journalism." Oh great. If you didn't already know, I'm planning on studying journalism. I can see I have a bright future ahead of me. ;)

Today Is The Day.

Guess what ya'll?! It's my blogiversary! Exactly 365 days ago from today, I started this blog. 140 posts later, here we are. Sure, I haven't posted much in the last few months, but we still made it. And that's what matters! Who's up for a trip down memory lane? * Click on the highlight words for past posts *

I started blogging on July 7, 2012. The day after I started my blog I posted about the new stuff I got for my room, including colored whiteboards.  364 days later, the white boards are still in my closet... in other words, they haven't actually been put up yet...

After a little bit I had my fun Summer Time posts.

In August I posted about my Journaling Obsession. It still exists, and it's bigger than ever. It's become a huge life consuming obsession since then. I'm majorly addicted to journaling...

Eventually I started my 15 Before 15 series.

By September I had a happy day. A happy day where I got a Britt Nicole CD. Then I had an even more exciting day when I went to her concert! :D

Soon enough Christmas arrived, along with all the fabulous Christmas music and Christmas posts.

But let's not forget the possibly most scarry day in all of history... the day I got my driver's permit.

January 1st came, and the New Year dawned.

And after about 6 months of some random posts about random topics, we ended up here, today.

What Today Looked Like.

I'm Reading: Dragons In Our Midst. I'm working on the 4th book, Tears of a Dragon. They're so good! I don't want them to end, but I really want to get to the end... if that makes any sense at all. I have some catching up to do. If you've never read them, you've got to! In my opinion, my favorite was the 3rd, but read them in order. It's worth getting there.

I'm Listening to: Reliant K - Be My Escape. I heard the song for the first time ever today, and I listened to it, oh, I don't know... 15 times or so? It's so cool. The lyrics are really good. Besides that song, I've also heard random bits of Britt Nicole and Royal Tailor.

I'm Learning (On Guitar): Strangely Dim by Francesca Battistelli. The chords are easy enough to play, and it's pretty fun.

I'm Wearing: A neon yellow top, dark blue jean shorts, and diamond stud earrings. My nails are painted sky blue.

I'm Eating: These wonderful brownie, marshmallow fluff, peanut butter, rice krispy things. I don't know what they're called, but imagine brownie dough layered with that stuff. They were good.

I'm Wishing: That I could find my camera. It just disappeared on me today, and so that explains why this post remains photo-less.

Summer Photo Challenge

I've been wanting to do a photo challenge forever, and I've finally decided I'm just going to do it. I got this one off Pinterest. Every so often I'll post my photos from these days so you can see my progress. I think it'll be lots of fun! If you do a photo challenge this summer, I'd love to hear about it! Oh, and by the way, I'm starting this one tomorrow even though it is designed for July. It doesn't hurt to start early. ;)

I don't care how old I am. I'll always love going to Disney. This past week my family and I took an unexpected trip to all 4 of their parks, and I had an awesome time. Some of the highlights of my trip included:

-Getting new Nike's!

-Eating in 7 different countries in Epcot

-Riding Thunder Mountain 4 times, and Kali River Rapids 7

-Eating wonderful soft serve ice cream

-Staying at the theme parks from opening, to closing 

-Eating out at Sweet Tomatoes!

-Shopping at Downtown Disney (more like looking...)

-Watching the American Idol Experience (the best part is when they shower the winner in glittery confetti)

-Listening to music on the car ride

-Riding all the other rides, watching all the shows, and eating all the other good food. ;)

So yes, I had a great time. It was really nice to escape all the Spanish assignments I'm supposed to be finishing, and instead hang out at Disney...

#1 'For King and Country' is an awesome group. They're SO good. Specifically, their song 'Missing'. It's been on repeat for the last two weeks. You know, it's one of those songs you get.

#2 I've added a bunch to my 'Dream' list. You may want to check it out.

#3 I got a Pinterest. I keep rearranging my boards, and moving pins. 

#4 I plan to actually post some stuff on my blog this month. I always plan to, but forget. But this month, I do hope to blog more. We'll see :-)

So time to cover the new music from last month!

Hundred More Years - Deluxe Edition

I've always loved Francesca's music. I have her 'Hundred More Years' album, and the deluxe edition has some great new songs. 'Something More' on her new album is my favorite of the new ones, and of course her old songs are still amazing.

Passion - Let The Future Begin

'Passion - Let The Future Begin' is the album recorded at the Passion conference. With great worship singers like Kristian Stanfill, Matt Redman, and Chris Tomlin, there's a lot of awesome music in this album.

Audio Adrenaline - Kings and Queens

I didn't hear about Audio Adrenaline till recently, but I really like their song 'Kings and Queens'. I haven't gotten the chance to listen to their full album yet, but I know people who love them.

So there you have it. Looking forward to April's music fill!

Beach Curls

Time and time again I try to curl my hair. I braid it, sleep on my braids, wake up and take it out. Then my hair is either super frizzy, the curl didn't hold at all, or my curls look like sticks. I can't do a thing with a curling iron (they just never work for me), and my hair ends up with a weird flop or some other thing. 

Finally, I have found a way to conquer my hair problems. and I am HAPPY ! The video below finally showed me how to make my hair work! It was so much easier, and it was over in 30 minutes, and my hair held forever. I highly recommend you try this. I have the straightest hair in the world, so I'm highly shocked it worked on me. This photo is proof my hair worked:

Spring Time Nail Polish

I thought I'd do a post on the way I love to do my nails during spring. This is one of my favorite ways.

I really like doing my nails like this for several reasons. It's easy to do, and perfect for spring!

First paint your nails coral. Other spring colors like light violet, pinks, yellows, and spring green could also work for this look.

Once your nails are dry, make messy white dots on the tip with a fine nail brush. 

Top with a coat of clear.

And you're done! To get specific, these are the exact colors I used:

The Last Days In Photos

Hello.

I've been meaning to write for forever, but got busy with stuff.

Anyways, I've been having a lovely 'Spring Break'. While everyone seems to be doing something awesome with this week off, I've been doing school. But that's okay. It's still been pretty fun. So here's what I've been up to when I'm not doing school: (just a note, some of the pics. are a little blurry)

 I've been outside all the time these past few days. The weather's been so brisk and refreshing compared to our usual Florida spring weather, so I've enjoyed the fresh air.

 A big debate is coming up for me at my homeschool group. My teacher has called it 'The All-Star Debate' because it's the highest scoring people against each other in a 2 vs. 2 debate. I have 13 minutes of speaking, so that leads me to do lots of planning... 

I've been journaling like always. I took this photo zoomed into some words on some random page, so I honestly have no idea what I was writing about. Recently I've been writing about awkward random thoughts that happen to come into my head. My journals are going to be seriously interesting to read someday...

Monopoly: The game you play when you have 20 minutes to waste, but you instead end up playing 2 hours.

I finally learned how to Ripstik! I'm so happy about that! I also completed one of my goals. Anyways, it's awesome. It's fun. And for someone with no sense of balance, it actually went pretty well.

On rare occasions, when I'm extremely bored I draw video game characters. They're easy enough to draw, and pretty fun. This is Toon Zelda. I don't even know what video game she is in, but I decided to draw her. Soon I'll add color and post when I'm done... a work in progress...

Finally, I've been shooting and dribbling a generous amount. If I want to improve by next basketball season, I'm starting now. Being the worst on my team really pushed me to work harder during the season, so I might as well get a head start for the next one.

My Weirdism.

I know... weirdism is not a word, but it is now. I have meant to blog some more recently, but have been super busy with super important stuff... like playing an excessive amount of Draw Something, procrastinating my biology book, and laughing really hard at really regular stuff. I know... good things to do in my spare time, right? ;) Moving on...

Today I discussed how weird I can be with one of my friends. I have my normal days, and other's are just awkward... speaking of awkward, I apparently recorded myself on the webcam the other day by mistake... don't you just love it when that happens? You realize that if you really look like that while your on the laptop, it may be good to just start dragging it into your room and closing the door. I think I've said enough...

February Music

Looking back at February, I thought I'd do a post of all the new music that came out!

Francesca Battistelli's new single 'Strangely Dim' is amazing. It came out February 5th, and by the 6th I'd already listened to it 20+ times. It has great lyrics and a catchy melody, so I suggest you check it out! One of my all time favorite songs.

Sanctus Real's new album came out February 1st. I've not listened to them very much, but from the samples their album sounds neat! I like a lot of their singles on the radio, and this album seems to follow in those songs footsteps.

Newsong came out with 'Swallow The Ocean' on February 26. I've never been the biggest Newsong person, but a few of there songs on the new album sound really cool! I personally think the first song on their album, 'All We Need' is a really nice worship song.


Britt Nicole re-released 'Gold' on February 26 as well. This album is like her original 'Gold', but repackaged and featuring 2 remixes of the title track. I've heard that 'Gold' and 'All This Time' were rerecorded, but they sound pretty much like the originals. Anyways, if you don't have her original 'Gold' already, you should go get this album since it has lots of great music! I get thrilled by her albums easily.


Jeremy Camp released his new album 'Reckless' on February 12. Once again with his original sound, he made his 9th studio album. Wow, that's a lot! I've never been into Jeremy Camp myself, but I know of a lot of people who like him, so you may want to look into his new album!

I guess that's all for February's music. Can't wait to see what comes out this month!

Banana Muffins

Yesterday I was bored. I had finished school way too early, and now I had nothing to do. With all the free time on my hand, I decided to get busy and make muffins. Wonderful muffins.

- Banana Muffins -

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

3 large bananas, mashed

3/4 cup white sugar

1 egg

1/3 cup butter, melted

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Coat muffin pans with non-stick spray, or use paper liners. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; set aside.

Combine bananas, sugar, egg, and melted butter in a large bowl. Fold in flour mixture, and mix until smooth. Scoop into muffin pans.

Bake in preheated oven. Bake mini muffins for 10 to 15 minutes, and large muffins for 25 to 30 minutes. Muffins will spring back when lightly tapped.

I got the recipe here. These are SO good. They disappeared quickly, and they were really delicious. If you like banana bread, you'll love these! :)

Rainbow of Colored Denim
