This is a Goodbye.

It's New Years Eve. It seems like a good day to write something like this.

After a year or so of fun, it's about time for me to be done with Dreaming In Color. In the last months I haven't had nearly as much time to keep it up, and my interests are moving on to other things. So I've decided it's time to quit blogging. Maybe not permanently, but for now and on this blog at least.

So on this last post, I thought I would catch us up to where I am today. 

Well...

I still absolutely love journaling. I also love writing. It's my way of looking back on life in a new way, as words on paper. Reading is also one of those things I still adore in my free time. If you see me typing on the keyboard, holding a book, or writing in a journal, you can assume I'm happy.

Music. Oh, music. How much I've come to appreciate it. I've always loved playing some instrument, singing, or listening to it. But now it's become like the air. It's something I need to keep breathing. I've gotten into songwriting a little. Trust me, don't expect anything amazing anytime soon, but writing lyrics and melodies just for myself keeps me in a good mood. I've also picked up the ukulele recently which has been quite fun. And when I'm not playing or writing something, I've got my ear buds in. I relate to lyrics so easily, and they really do help me get through life. All those happy times and hard times, songs are there for me in every situation and right when I need it the most. That's just part of the reason I love listening to music so much.

Well, that's about it. This is me. I'm not perfect. I'm still awkward. But I think I'll be just okay.

Thanks for reading for all the months you have! I can't wait to see what else is to come in the future.

What Today Looked Like.

I'm Reading: Dragons In Our Midst. I'm working on the 4th book, Tears of a Dragon. They're so good! I don't want them to end, but I really want to get to the end... if that makes any sense at all. I have some catching up to do. If you've never read them, you've got to! In my opinion, my favorite was the 3rd, but read them in order. It's worth getting there.

I'm Listening to: Reliant K - Be My Escape. I heard the song for the first time ever today, and I listened to it, oh, I don't know... 15 times or so? It's so cool. The lyrics are really good. Besides that song, I've also heard random bits of Britt Nicole and Royal Tailor.

I'm Learning (On Guitar): Strangely Dim by Francesca Battistelli. The chords are easy enough to play, and it's pretty fun.

I'm Wearing: A neon yellow top, dark blue jean shorts, and diamond stud earrings. My nails are painted sky blue.

I'm Eating: These wonderful brownie, marshmallow fluff, peanut butter, rice krispy things. I don't know what they're called, but imagine brownie dough layered with that stuff. They were good.

I'm Wishing: That I could find my camera. It just disappeared on me today, and so that explains why this post remains photo-less.

Anyways, welcome May. Lots has gone on. April was awesome, so I can't wait for this month.

Some things you may want to know:

#1 'For King and Country' is an awesome group. They're SO good. Specifically, their song 'Missing'. It's been on repeat for the last two weeks. You know, it's one of those songs you get.

#2 I've added a bunch to my 'Dream' list. You may want to check it out.

#3 I got a Pinterest. I keep rearranging my boards, and moving pins. 

#4 I plan to actually post some stuff on my blog this month. I always plan to, but forget. But this month, I do hope to blog more. We'll see :-)

March Music

So time to cover the new music from last month!

Hundred More Years - Deluxe Edition

I've always loved Francesca's music. I have her 'Hundred More Years' album, and the deluxe edition has some great new songs. 'Something More' on her new album is my favorite of the new ones, and of course her old songs are still amazing.

Passion - Let The Future Begin

'Passion - Let The Future Begin' is the album recorded at the Passion conference. With great worship singers like Kristian Stanfill, Matt Redman, and Chris Tomlin, there's a lot of awesome music in this album.

Audio Adrenaline - Kings and Queens

I didn't hear about Audio Adrenaline till recently, but I really like their song 'Kings and Queens'. I haven't gotten the chance to listen to their full album yet, but I know people who love them.

So there you have it. Looking forward to April's music fill!

February Music

Looking back at February, I thought I'd do a post of all the new music that came out!

Francesca Battistelli's new single 'Strangely Dim' is amazing. It came out February 5th, and by the 6th I'd already listened to it 20+ times. It has great lyrics and a catchy melody, so I suggest you check it out! One of my all time favorite songs.

Sanctus Real's new album came out February 1st. I've not listened to them very much, but from the samples their album sounds neat! I like a lot of their singles on the radio, and this album seems to follow in those songs footsteps.

Newsong came out with 'Swallow The Ocean' on February 26. I've never been the biggest Newsong person, but a few of there songs on the new album sound really cool! I personally think the first song on their album, 'All We Need' is a really nice worship song.


Britt Nicole re-released 'Gold' on February 26 as well. This album is like her original 'Gold', but repackaged and featuring 2 remixes of the title track. I've heard that 'Gold' and 'All This Time' were rerecorded, but they sound pretty much like the originals. Anyways, if you don't have her original 'Gold' already, you should go get this album since it has lots of great music! I get thrilled by her albums easily.


Jeremy Camp released his new album 'Reckless' on February 12. Once again with his original sound, he made his 9th studio album. Wow, that's a lot! I've never been into Jeremy Camp myself, but I know of a lot of people who like him, so you may want to look into his new album!

January Music

I thought I'd do an update on new music and artists. So here's what's up!

Released January 8, 2013

You may or may not have heard of Capital Kings. For several years they've been doing remixes for other artists including Mandisa, TobyMac, and Britt Nicole, but now they've decided to make their first album, and I'm thrilled! Their album has songs featuring Britt Nicole, Royal Tailor, and Toby Mac (yay!) and so with all those artists, they're sure to be great.

Released January 11, 2013

Britt Nicole came out with her Gold EP. It includes her song gold, and two new remixes! Don't think I'll be getting this one since I don't like several versions of the same song, but it still sounds pretty good!

Released January 4, 2013

Chris Tomlin came out with his newest album, Burning Lights.  I'm not the biggest Chris Tomlin person, but his music is still pretty good!

Released January 25, 2013

I could't get a picture for this one. If you listen to Christian radio, I'm sure you've heard his song 'You Are' already! I like most of his first album! It's really good, so I suggest you listen to it as well as all the other new ones I've listed!

This Year's Awesome Music

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! I know I sure did =)

Since it's nearly 2013, I'm posting a mini series that looks back on all my favorites from the past year.

To start off, I'm going to show you my favorite music from 2012:

Gold - Britt Nicole

From this post, you probably already know I'm crazy about this album. It has the best music in the world, and it's defidenlty worth buying!

Eye On It - Toby Mac

Got the album for Christmas, but have been listening to several of the songs before. I really like all the great music on 'Eye On It'! It's really energizing. My favorite songs include 'Me Without You', 'Eye On It', 'Unstoppable', and 'Favorite Song'.

Fearless - Group 1 Crew

SOOOOOOO awesome! Group1Crew sings great and has REALLY catchy songs. 'Goin Down' from their album has been stuck in my head all day.

Heart - Audrey Assad

Audrey's album released in February of this year is really pretty. She has a really soft voice and calmer songs which are a change from what I regularly listen to, but they're really good. Favorite songs are 'Even The Winter' and 'Won Me Over'

Those have to be my top 4 favorites that came out in 2012! There's so much good music though, so those are just a few. What are you favorite albums and songs from this year? =)

On Emily's Pintrest. Couldn't help but posting it, since it is SOOOOOOOO true for me. Literally, I started laughing when I read this since it is JUST like me. Music is so awesome, and I seriously start 'acting out' the song I'm listening to ALL the time. Mouthing words, and 'performing' the song. This is becoming my desktop background ;)

Group 1 Crew's 'No Christmas (Without You)' has a great beat and catchy lyrics.

 'Marshmallow World' by Francesca Battistelli feels really Christmasy and is lots fun.

'The First Noel' sung by Toby Mac and Owl City gets a makeover to an up-beat hip-hop style song.

 If you've got spare time though, listen to all the music on this list. Christmas music is the best ;-)

Having Fun :

I'm getting over a cold, and this is the way I made it fun:

1. Peppermint Starbucks Frappuccino's were buy 1 get 1 free today, and I happily enjoyed it.

2. Playing Rumimkub. A game like this where I nearly always win always boosts your mood ;)

3. Listening to music. Royal Tailor, Owl City, Francesca Battistelli.

4. Taking photos with the app Webcam Toy.

So despite the feeling of being slightly sick, I had a really good day... and look, I've actually have time to blog!

Another Concert!

Had a fantastic day yesterday, and the best part was a Brandon Heath and Matt Maher Concert!

Compared to the Britt Nicole concert, this one was really different but really good. 

If you listen to Christian radio, you'd probably recognize some of their music.

 Waiting before the concert... The curtain with people on it looked really cool!

 Matt Maher. He was REALLY good. The music he sang was probably my favorite part of the concert! His voice kind of 'wowed' me, since it sounded even better than on the radio.

Brandon Heath. He has a more blue-grass sound in real life than he does on his CD's, but he was still great!

The end of the concert with them both on stage. It was really awesome! Also, the live music was REALLY great for this concert.

Britt Nicole Concert

My family and my friend Emily and her family went to a Britt Nicole concert!!! It was a blast... literally and figuratively ;) REALLY loud, but REALLY fun :) ha ha. Glad I brought earplugs since we were sitting right by the speaker in the 3rd and 2nd row. Still lots of fun though!

After the concert, Group 1 Crew who was featured in the show was signing autographs, so my brother's and I got a picture with them.

Besides taking pictures, I also decided to put this video together. It's kind of blurry since it's blog-quality, but it's good enough to kind of see.

Okay, so yeah, as you can see it was really good! Since I haven't really been to any real concerts before, it was good to go to one from one of my favorite singers, and even better to go with friends :)

Dreaming In Color

So some of you may be wondering how my blog ever got this name. Since I haven't posted anything in a few days, I decided I'd post about this. Prepare for a short semi-pointless story! ;)

Okay, so in 2007 maybe I got a CD for Christmas (I think) from the singing group Jump 5. I sort of listened to them a little bit, but never really got into their music. 

Really early this year though, I pulled out the CD I got in 2007 from them and started listening to it a ton. One song in particular I really liked then was 'Dreaming In Color'. When naming this blog, I wanted it to be a name that was bright and catchy, and I thought 'Dreaming In Color' sounded like a good name which fit well. :) I actually narrowed it down the name to 4 Jump 5 songs, but just ended up going with this one. When I named my blog I was already kind of out of my Jump 5 faze though. To me they're not quite my style of music any more, but they're still pretty good :)

P.s. This has absolutely nothing to do with the post, but last Sunday I saw people waltzing in the McDonald's parking lot. I started laughing as soon as we got into the car, because it was really weird. That's NOT something you see everyday. Ha ha :)

Already Into Christmas

I REALLY shouldn't be doing this already, but I have started listening to Christmas music. I think I'm over excited about it even though it's still months away. So, what I'm trying to do now is listen to all the samples for Christmas CDs I don't own, and decided which one I want to buy in December. I've decided to start a tradition for myself, and buy a new Christmas album every year. So, I've narrowed down to a few albums, but I think the one I'm going to buy is Francesca Battistelli 'Christmas'. She used to be my absolute favorite singer, and while I haven't heard the samples yet, I'm sure it's good :)

I love Christmas music.

Lots Of Random Thoughts

OK- so this is going to be a REALLY random post! Today's random thoughts:

-Francesca Battistelli is coming out with a Christmas Album. So exited about that!

-Next week I have my first debate. Up until now we've basically been doing a lot of research, but now we'll start actually competing.

-I found out that on my birthday I'll be playing against CCS in basketball! CCS is my church's school. That will be weird since I know nearly everyone on CCS's team, but will be competing against them instead of working with them.

-Today I took a Biology test and I actually got 100%! That was shocking, as I thought I would completely fail it.

-I've not painted my nails in a whole 5 days. That's sort of a long time for me.

-I realized that I do something weird. You know those 'fruit on the bottom' yogurts? Well instead of mixing it all together, I eat all the yogurt on top first and then eat the fruit. 

-I am thrilled, because my typing speed is now 100 wpm! That's when I've just had a lot of sugar... when I'm not so sugary, my time is 90wpm.

-I listened to the Britt Nicole song 'Amazing Life' about 12 times in a row today. I get songs stuck in my head all the time. I tell myself the best way to get songs un-stuck is to listen to them more, but instead I found myself singing it when I was supposed to be doing math :)

-I've been wanting to wear a scarf forever, but it's been so hot outside! I finally decided I would just wear one today :)

 If you can't tell, I'm SUPER exited right now. Just got Britt Nicole's CD 'Gold', and am listening to it as I write. Since I absolutely LOVE Britt Nicole, I am happy to finally own her newest CD :)

Attempting to Draw Britt Nicole...

This was my first attempt at drawing Britt Nicole on the cover of her new CD, "Gold". I think the picture looks better in real life, but at least you can kind of see it on here. :) The problem is every time I took a picture of it, it squashed her head, so I can't get it exactly but it's good enough. I also made her eyes and nose too pig, and her head is the wrong shape, so it could use a little work... maybe I'll draw it again soon and see if I can improve. I also tried to draw Francesca Battistelli which is NOT going good... once it actually looks somewhat like her, I'll post it here! Do you like to draw? Your comments are awesome!

P.s. I'm changing a goal on my '15 things before I'm 15 list'. I'm changing the 'Draw 15 people I know' to 'Draw 15 real people'. I think I'd be better at drawing people I've never met, because they never have to see the picture if I absolutely clobber it. So I think I might stick with stuff like this ;)

Car Rides

Riding in the car is awesome.
The longer the trip, the more fun the ride is in my definition.
Besides watching out the window and talking, I LOVE to listen to music. I go through fazes where I listen to certain songs over... and over, and over, and over, and over again. This month's listening list includes "Me Without You" by Toby Mac, "All This Time" by Britt Nicole, and "You Lead" by Jamie Grace. I've also been watching the music video for "Hold Me" by Jamie Grace and Toby Mac like a million times, but I haven't bought it yet- plan 2 soon :) What do you like to do in the car?... and if listening to music is also what you like to do, what songs are on your listening list? ;) Please comment!
