In Between Seasons

Seriously, whoa. September crept up on me more than ever before. I still had my head stuck in summer... but what's September? School's in September so it's not my summer, but it's not quite fall either since it's still hot outside. So what is it? To me it's a month stuck in between seasons. It comes and goes like it never was there. That's how I see September. So what does this September 1st look like?

The grass was freshly cut outside... I love the smell of it

The sky was still big and blue
Our Bird of Paradise seemed happy
Then I found these scary huge mushrooms that had apparently been mowed over, and were now invading the edge of the driveway. They're kind of gross.
There's one plant in our yard, covered in Caterpillars. At least 100 would be my guess, and I'm hoping they'll just turn into butterflies soon, since they've been there for a few weeks already! They've been deciding to cross the driveway several times a day. We should seriously consider putting up signs for caterpillar crossing... one almost got smushed by a basketball the other day... oops...

So that's September in my backyard.
Have a day full of sunshine,
-Brooke
